Well I can't believe I forgot about this but...Saturday when I went into the ocean I had 5 others on board which means a fair amount of weight, and 5 foot seas which means a fair amount of bobbing and surfing, and I looked into the cabin and saw everyones biggest nightmare, 2" of water. A quick assessment showed water spilling over the top of the hose that guides the centerboard cable. A quick stuff with a sponge stopped the flow and some time with another sponge got at least the lying water off of the floor but what a pain in the a**. Not to mention inspiring white knuckle fear in more than one of my passengers. So when I got back in I extended the hose by a full foot. Then with a razor knife and a 4" section of a swimmers noodle I fashioned a plug that will have to be removed when raising and lowering the board. I'll let you know the end result. Has anyone else tried any of these "fixes"? All in all it was a great day though as at one point no less than 30 dolphins surrounded the boat. Diving on one side and coming up on the other and generally playing with us! YeeHaa!
