I am curious how often each fleet races. Fleet 43 races on a regular basis when the wind allows. We hold what we call 4 major
regattas each season plus 8 to 10 beer can races.

Our races have gone from 3 to 5 boats last season per race to up to 10 boats per race this year and hopefully even more next year. The folks that do not race, take part as crews on the boats.

Our race committee-couple does a great job with setting up our races. Steve and Sue Jones have really gotten into it aggressively. They have even given a lesson or two in our day room on starts and racing. They were the club champions last year, but due to their teachings...may have taught to well...as they are currently in 2nd in the club standings.

Fleet 43's standings as of July 25

1. Charis - John and Diane Stallingwerf
2. Grace - Steve and Sue Jones
3. Family Therapy - Kurt "The living legend" Gregory

Various boats tied for 4th.

I am also curious how other clubs or fleets handle racing as to make ours even better in 2006.

It also looks like we will be represented next year in Cleveland. We are going to possibly choose a boat and then fleet members will collectively crew on the boat for the nationals.
