I have a 1982 C25 that has a manual bilge pump installed. I inspected all the hoses and everything looks dandy, only problem is, how do I work the manual pump? (I know, very dumb question...) When I bought the boat there were winch handles, a tiller extension, but I could not find anything that looks like it would attach to the manual bilge pump port in the cockpit. Does anyone know what the manual handle looks like or where I can buy a replacement. I checked CD but couldn't find anything listed.
We totally reconditioned the boat over the last 2 months. It looks beautiful and has been a great source of fun for my family. I just have this uneasy feeling that one day I'm going to need to use the bilge pump and won't be able to. Knock on wood, I have a VERY dry boat.
I have no idea what the original bilge pump handle looked like ... but, after I picked up my boat, I found a short piece of aluminum conduit in the coaming compartment ... I finally figured out that it is the handle for the manual bilge pump.
I'm not sure of the diameter, but I kinda' think it's 3/4" ... whatever it is, a piece of scrap pipe should do the trick.
Buzz has it about right. The pump handle to me looks simply like a 10 inch aluminum tube with a plastic coating on one half of it to indicate the handle part of the tube.
