Charlie, About the centerboard noise. The dealer installed stiff foam in the centerboard trunk in 2 places. 1) In the down position, the centerboard makes contact with foam on both sides of the trunk. The foam is installed above pivot shaft at the highest point of the trunk. 2) In the up position, the centerboard make contact with the foam vee aft of the centerboard line shackle. Notice in the picture, there is a notch at the top for the centerboard line.
I don't see any problem installing the foam vee and raising the centerboard at anchor. There should be no difference in "anchor hunting".
