Hey guys, I could use some help interpreting the numbers on my Trail-rite trailer label: Gross vehicle weight rating - 9999# Gross axle weight rating, all axles - 4999# Maximum load carrying capacity - 8899#
I'm assuming this is saying that, in round numbers, the total weight rating of trailer and load (boat, motor, accessories, etc) is 10,000#, that the trailer has 5,000# axles, and that it will handle a load up to 8900# (trailer weighing the remaining 1,100#).
I realize that I have to temper those numbers with the fact that I have a new coupler (2" ball) rated at 8000# and a ball rated at 7,500#, so my max. GVWR is really more like 7,500-8,000 lbs.
