I put up this post in the swap meet section for people looking for trailers. There were quite a few.

Don't narrow your search to Catalina specific trailers. Look for adjustable bunks.

Thanks. I've been using "(Sailboat | "sail boat") trailer" for one of my CL searches. That works pretty well, but it (obviously) misses the ones that don't mention a sailboat. I have another standard search for the other kinds of trailers. But searching is a pain, because inside of a 3 hour drive from my home there are quite a few separate CL sub-sites where you're likely to find sailboats, including Philadelphia, South Jersey, Jersey Shore, Central Jersey, North Jersey, Delaware, Baltimore, Annapolis, Washington, New York, Long Island, and Lancaster. AllofCraigs.com is interesting, because it allows searching across all of CL or within the Northeast, Southeast, ect., but that's too broad for my searches. I've been toying with creating my own CL search engine site that lets you specify the sub-sites you want to search.

A trailer can be towed by a much smaller vehicle across the country. I don't know how busy you are, but I'd be willing to drive halfway across the country in a 25mpg vehicle to get the perfect trailer at a good price.

A day trip isn't bad. Once you get into overnight trips, you're adding even more expense. At some point, it becomes a losing proposition. The one in GA is interesting because it is being re-sold by SailTrailers.com, and might be worth the drive if I could get the total cost into my budget.

That's where the C22's trailer was perfect - it's REALLY close, so I don't have any significant acquisition-related costs. If I sold the c22, I could use that money to pay for upgrades to the trailer, and still come out about even. But, alas, the trailer probably won't hold the boat safely. So...

I have been using www.craiglook.com. Since I am familiar with that site, it seems easier to navigate than allcraig

I'll be selling my trailer in April, TrailRite for C25 fin keel, works with a swinger, too. Makes bottom work a lot easier.
Separate post in the swap meet with go up soon.

David,
I've seen your trailer - it's VERY nice. For your sake, I hope it sells for well outside my budget!
