Heres my problem. The icebox is hooked up to the thru hull on the port quarter. There is a t in line so the galley sink can share the same thru hull. The sink drains fine, but the icebox with the new check valve in-line does not. When my ice melts the beers and whatever is in the box float in 2-3 inches of water(the check valve is brand new). It seems to me the old valve caused the same problem and at one time i removed the check valve only to find that the sea water was filling the icebox (but never backed up into the sink. Has anyone had a similar problem and how did you correct it. Thanks.

I'm not sure if my problem was identical but I too had an icebx drain problem. I wasn't actually using the sink (except to store keys, phones, etc) at the time but I used a compressed air source to blow anything in the line out. I did blow out some smelly icky stuff and I assume now it will drain. I haven't had her in the water since but hope that was the entire problem. Good luck with yours.

Given the stellar insulation that was provided to our iceboxes The admiral decided about 20 years ago, that that box was the best dry locker on the boat. We use a big Coleman cooler, and block ice.
The cooler is strapped in on the starbord setee. No more laying on your belly to keep the sink from draining into our dinner.

hi Dusty, i have posted the same question a while back and you can read a bunch of answers under "icebox not draining" posted by frants.
so far i have drained the icebox into the bilge and then pumped it out. i do want to seal the icebox and have the sink drain thru. good luck.
