Although I don't plan on attending the show, I have been to Annapolis. One activity I suggest is walking the docks with a camera. Just drive downhill until you see lots of masts. There are some amazing sailboats based there. If you could use another sail or two, try to fit in a visit to Bacons used sail brokerage.
A must for an evening meal and fun. Well, that's what our friend said. They tape sailboat races going on during the day and play them back at night on the wide screen. Local bar - not a chain restaurant. Sounds like fun. Hangout for local racers and sailors.

Most, if not all of downtown Annapolis is "real".....just park, if you can, and walk the main drag, the waterfront by "Ego Alley" (part of the show) and you will pass more establishments than you will be able to visit.....
They actually bring in a floating marina for the show, it's quite the operation.
I would like to go to the show next year. If you can, find out what the dates are for me. I have to put in my next year's vacation request in early November.
Have a great time. I hear the Lattitudes and Attitudes party is great.

Frank I think it is always the Columbus Day weekend, with the stinkpots moving in the following weekend. Hopefully someone can verify my information/misinformation.
I'll be there, not sure what day. If Friday, I'll look you guys up.
The Boat Yard is a great place for drinks. I haven't eaten there, but to me it's more of a drinking place. I'd eat at the Charthouse, which has a stunning view of the harbor. Both places are in Eastport, across the bridge from City Dock, where the boat show is.
I'd also recommend Chick and Ruth's Deli for breakfast. It's on the main street that goes up the hill to the State House. There's a booth called the Governor's Office. It's roped off when they're expecting the Governor.
p.s. I'd definitely make the trip to Bacon Sails. Not only do they have used sails, they have lots of other stuff too. Hardware, anchors, stoves, inexpensive line, sail covers, etc. It's worth an hour there, at least. BTW, you can search their sail inventory online.
