Can anyone tell me the mfg (and maybe model) of trailer that Catalina ships with the 250WK? Also, anyone know what they cost new if purchased separately? Lastly, does Catalina do anything to the trailer, ie special bunks for the 250WK, or can you truly purchase a new one direct from the trailer mfg?
Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin, My trailer is made by Trail Rite. It is a two axle trailer with six adjustable pads, keel guide, and an extendable tounge. It only has brakes on one axle though.
I called them a while back to ask about a launch wheel, unfortunatly, their after market version does not fit this style of trailer.
They manufacture these trailers for Catalina and know exactly what is required for the wing keel set up. They were able to look up my serial number and knew all the particulers of my trailer.
I would guess a price of 5k to 6k for a new trailer.
I ordered a WK Trail-Rite trailer this past Sept. and expect to take delivery next week. The Catalina factory refered me to my local Catalina dealer who was not too interested in trailer sales except for the standard version. I wanted disc brakes on all wheels. After getting numerous quotes I found the best price at a local marine dealer here in Reno. The price was $7070. The disc brakes added $450 to the base price. The spare tire and bracket was another $100. Sales tax added another $486. Delivery from the factory to Reno was included in the base price. Some dealers wanted $250 to $500 extra for delivery.
For anyone on the east coast - check out Triad Trailers in CT. They built a lift off trailer for my 1999 250 WK. It's a very well built trailer, has held up well, and was a fair price at the time. Don't know what their current cost might be.
I have a 2005 Road King trailer for my WK. Currently I am NOT happy with the setup in that my keel was seriously damaged during the initial launch due to the improper placement of the keel guides. I am working with Road King now and am optimistic that they will resolve the issue. If you look into Road King make sure that you get the latest design with the proper keel guides installed. Other than the damage I am satisfied with the trailer, dual axle, brakes on both axles etc. I definately like the mast raising system.
