Well I finally got the call on Tuesday Morning, after waiting over 2 years I now have a slip. I called the grounds keeper right away to see what his time line looked like to be able to install my hydrohoist into the slip. It all happened so fast. So, yesterday at 11:00 I drove up to the lake to install the hoist. The hoist had been used before for a Capri 25 so the set up of the bunks were right on, the attachments to the dock had to be modified to fix, so we ran up to the shop and cut a good 2" off of the under mounts. All of the supports had to be taken apart, and working with rusted etal is not a fun job. everything went as planned and I got the hoist installed by 3:40 in the afternoon. I rushed out to the boat sitting on the mooring and started her up. a quick spin to the slip and she was in. The first attempt we had the boat too far aft and just the front was going up, after a quick adjustment we got the boat right on the hoist and she was up and out of the water. I got two comments on how well the bottom paint was slothing the groth off of the bottom, I to was really surprized. I used the West Marine Bottom Pro, It was a can from last year so it didn't have the slimming in it, But for 30.00 clearence, it was the best money spent. I saw that there was a small leak in the aft pontoon so this ill have to be checked out and fixed. I am a spoiled sailor now.

And here I am trying to get out of a slip onto a mooring for next season. At least they didn't put my boat under the pine trees this year like last.

Life will never be the same. My big goal is to get a slip that points south so I can sail in and out. Maybe next year.

Folsom Lake Marina has what may be the world's longest waiting list for a slip: 14 years. There are 650 slips, but only about 1/4 of them are big enough to take a Catalina 25, and it's these 24'x10' "big" slips that have a 14 year waiting list. The smaller 22'x9' slips have about an 8 year waiting list. Dry storage, which is what I have, is a 5 year waiting list. The last time I checked, I am only about half-way up the waiting list, with about 7 years left to go to get a slip.

Hey Larry,
By that time maybe you can retire and live on the boat.
