What are your collective opinions about the installation of lazy jacks for mainsail dousing control? To install or not to install, that is the question. Whether it's nobler in the mind...ah, the actor in me never dies

I compared lazy jack systems a couple of years ago, and the E-Z-JAX system was the one I decided on (but I haven't purchased yet). Although the FAQs say the 3 line system is adequate for the C250, when I called the company, they recommended the 4 line version. I'm also going to get the cockpit control option.

Hopefully, I'll have it by Spring...!

After walking around looking at other lazy jack systems I got some old line out and made my own. I just through the line over the speaders and after a couple of fancy knots I was done. Took my less then 15 minutes. I was just playing around but it worked so well I used it for the whole season. This year I will spend some money on a few pieces of hardware and I figure I can make my own for around $20. Not only do I save some money but I get the satisfaction of doing it myself.

Please be more specific as to how you rigged your system, i.e. step by step, and some photos would be helpful. Thanks.

Along that same line, check out this home made Lazy Jack system from the C25 technical tips page. I would never start a modification to my boat without reviewing the information available on this website. There is not much you can do that has not been tried before and documented.
