Dan, There won't be a problem taking the motor off the boat. All one need do is slip the coiled throttle wire off the tilt lever and unscrew the screws holding the metal strap to the motor mount's board and the mechanism is free of the motor. That unit is held to the railing with one bolt should you want to remove it.

If you use the thumbnail view of the picture in shutterfly to get the URL, you'll get the thumbnail view in your post. To get the larger picture URL, first click on the shutterfly thumbnail to get the larger picture, then copy the URL of this larger picture.
Another way to change the size of your Shutterfly photo is to change the fourth to last digit to a 6 (in red)
The operating end of the device needs to mounted free of the powerhead. The handle with two holes in it turn with the powerhead. It won't do. The ground wire bolt is of no use in this installation.

Not quite...I'm not exactly sure how I discovered the number thing, but it was during a time when I was bumblin', stumblin', and fumblin' while tring to post a @#&%* picture.
