I noticed that there was quite a bit of talk of our furry sailing companions in the discussion of boarding or disembarking with a large dog. Lots of us sail with our pets. What's your story? what type of pet, Dog, Cat or other? got any pictures? Below is Lilly our 5 year old Chihuahua. She enjoys sailing but prefers being at anchor where she can snooze.

Here's Abaco, my little sailing buddy from the Bahamas, and all around bundle of mischief, a.k.a. <center> "<i>The Rare and Fierce Bahamian Panther Cub!</i>" (click images for 800x600 resolution)
Here are my dogs Spunky (beagle) and Bear (husky-type mix). Bear doesn't sail with us very much because she gets too hot. Spunky goes along to humor me, I think. Both dogs are old and would prefer to be curled up on the couch at home.
Wally: not much good as crew (not even rail meat - he won't stay put), but he never criticizes or complains. He always knows when we're headed to the boat, and is the first one in the truck.
