I have never wanted to spend the $$ or the precious cockpit space installing a wheel pedestal guard and cockpit table but have been thinking of a way to have a small table/ beverage holder/ GPS mount, etc. close at hand. This has been on my 'to-do list' for a couple of years and I finally got it built in just a couple of hours.
It simply drops onto the compass housing and rests snugly on the bottom flange. Just some scrap plywood and poplar from the garage!
Excellant, I saw it on the bimini thread and almost made a fool out of myself asking about it. Were did you find the holder for your handheld and cell phone? You ever going to get to the East Coast or does your flying circle not include the East Coast?
Thanks for the kind words If anyone wants to make one I can send you the measurements. The hard part was getting the diameter for the 'compass hole' right; actually got lucky on the first cut!
Jerry: I'm flying out of Baltimore lately and spend a LOT of time up and down the East coast but STILL cannot seem to pull a JAX layover! Close as I get is Tampa. It'll happen eventually and I'll definitely give you a call or email. BTW, the 'drop-ins' for the holders are 'BoatMate' items I picked up at Academy Sporting Goods. About $3.00 a piece, if I remember correctly.
Frank; I did a modification of the cabin/cockpit table. The origional was much to big, so I removed the legs and put them back on a smaller top. It works well in the cabin, and in the cockpit, where we usually use it. Is this what you had in mind? Bill C250wb #234 Serendipity

My home is a 15 min. drive from BWI and the boat is just south of Annapolis.
Bill, my 2001 cabin table is supported by a pedestal, not legs. I think it's too large but "she who must be obeyed", i.e. my "pretty Penny" wife thinks it's fine. What do you suggest for a stow-able cockpit table in front of my tiller helm?
