I am considering the purchase of a new WK.
Normal usage will be on a small lake close to home.
Maybe 3-4 times a summer I would want to trailer it to a larger lake for a 3 day weekend.
At least once a summer I would want to trailer it to the east coast, and once a winter trailer it to the gulf or Florida.
All are about 1200 miles.
I live in Kansas City.
How difficult is it to trailer, launch, and set up a WK?
Tow vehicle is a large Ford Van with 350 engine.
From the time I decide to pull the boat out of the water, how long before it would be highway ready?
How long from pulling into a marina until ready to sail?
Thanks,

Hi Ron
I bought a 2001 250wk last year and love it! It is a good choice. Your tow vehicle should be adequate. Plan on a towing weight of around 6500 - 7000lbs. A good towing speed is around 55-65mph. You go much faster than that and is does start to sway a bit!! Also, make sure you have an adequate hitch <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>.

Launching & retrieving is not that difficult, just make sure you have either the trailer tongue extension, or use the "Rope" method that some have discussed before. I would plan on atleast 1-1/2 to 2 hours to launch and/or retrieve. It's not that difficult, just time consuming...... I usually bring along a step ladder too..... it really comes in handy!! Also, the more you do it, the faster you will get!!

Good luck in your search

Hi Ron:

I also have a 2001 250K. I pull it with a super-charged Toyota Tacoma. The Tacoma has pulled our boat over Berthoud Pass, Colorado, near 12,000 feet on its way to her summer home in Lake Granby, at 8,300 feet. The truck got pushed around a little but it is not a heavy truck.
