I just submitted my 9th quarterly Tech Editor article to the Catalina Mainsheet. The magazine has seen me restore two boats, trailers and all, and publish a fair number of articles submitted by other forum members. I think I am done. I also think that when people give up volunteer positions they should try to find a replacement. Consider this a posting of a job opening. I hope that one of our newer members with a long list of projects will see the fun in this and offer to take the position. The next article is due June 11 so there is plenty of time to put together a piece. There are many things that need to cycle through the tech section every few years and those of you with new boats are going to be doing them, doing the projects is what qualifies you for the job.

I'm thinking we could also use a new TellTale Editor, Treasurer, and new Quarermaster. In fact, a whole new slate of Officers is not a bad idea (Frank, Duane, JB, and I have basically been at the helm here several years now, with Don and Cliff, too). JG has been tireless as Mainsheet editor.

Come one, come all. This association needs you. Become staff now, and start thinking about becoming an Officer.

Not an easy set of boots to fill.
Since Peggy & I decided on getting a C250, we have scoured the forum and the many other pages on the site. We have gleaned a huge amount of info about the boat, sailing techniques and more.
The Mainsheet, is greeted and immeadiately opened at the 25' section.

You guys and gals have done some awesome work on our behalf.
I'm sure that some well qualified residents will step foward.

Paul.

I for one, as a new C-25 owner AND a new sailboat owner appreciate the help I have thus far received here. Indeed, the posts here by everyone further impress in my mind that I made the right choice in the C-25. And I mailed my association application and check last week. It was the least I could do.

I do not have the experience or the know-how to fill your shoes, Frank. But I do wish you the best if you do decide to step down.

Cheers,
Gene

This is precisely what I am about to undertake as soon as the fickle New England weather figures out what it wants to do. So the question is, can I order reprints of the magazines that have these articles? Any info I can gleen from them would be a big help. Are there back issues available?

Cheers,
Gene

Gene - many of them have similar stories in the tech tips section...

As an association, we should think about getting a hold of the archives for publication here

No, are you interested? It is a hoot for your friends to see your articles. I am in my mid 50s and my mother shows them to people!

<blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote">a note to Frank: If you still need help for the magazine, I could do some of the tech editing as it pertains to boat repair and restoration, but may need articles from others on topics about race tuning and performance. Personally, I like the smell of glue and varnish...... followed by hot blueberry muffins.

Seeing the work John has done on his boat, Nim Bimash II, and his extensive sailing experience (see Mainseet Feb. 2004 “My Father’s Eyes”) he will be a great C25 Tech Editor.
Thanks John.
