I've added REI to our list of Affiliate sponsors....They aren't going to help all of us, but they will have stuff for a lot of us.

Duane...

oh and FYI - Commision Junction - boat us insurance, ebay, rei, and others - up to about $20 bucks

Amazon - up to 55 (which puts them at about 100+ for the past 6 months)

Performics.com - west marine, a few others.....About 25-35 bucks so far...

All of this money helps offset our web costs.

Thank you all and please continue to use us to click on through to your shopping experience.

Hi Duane, I did not realize eBay was on the list. I just listed a Panhead and Toyota MR2 on eBay. I did not use the link from our links. Is there a way to go back and get points from eBay for these listings? Cheers.

I have used REI since about 1973. I used to buy Ociers Glacier Glasses to use as driving glasses back in my Alfa Romeo days.

I won't even speculate as to how long ago Frank even would FIT behind the wheel of an Alfa Romeo!

The fiberglass wands fit through the hem in the tarp and they are flexible so they form a professional looking “Conestoga” looking boom tent for $36.
Great shade in those August doldrums.

What do we get from Amazon? I've ordered quite a bit of stuff from there since the beginning of the year and I believe every time except one, I went through the link here. I'm about to order a Xantrex power pack and I hope the Association get's its 6 pence, it's $140 unit not counting shipping.

Amazon's payment plan is a bit different. We get percentages based on which merchant actually handle the business and based on quantity of orders. at 21 items we get a bump from 4.5 to 5 %.... I actually haven't checked any of that in about a month. I'll have to jump on over and take a peak...

Last quarter we pulled in about 150 bucks from all the programs.

That REI tarp setup sounds like a cool idea. There is a REI outlet on my route to the marina, where I can check out the goods (then order online for the points, Duane). It's next to a Home Depot where I can probably pick up the glass rods.
Do you sail with it? How do you secure it. Please post a pix?

Duane -
My wife used the Amazon link last month to buy her entire book club reading list. Some of it came from secondary merchants. Glad to hear we still get the credit from secondaries.

Dan,
I’ve never seen the fibre glass rods at Home Depot but that’s not to say they don’t have something that will work.
The boom tent is strictly an at anchor or on the mooring sun shade it’s not rigged like a bimini.
When it gets warm enough here to use it I will try to get some photos.

I use the fiberglass poles, which breakdown into a much smaller size, from an old cheap REI dome tent. I just bend them over the boom, tie it to a tarp, and the lifelines, and there you go.
