Just bought a new 9.8 Tohatsu long shaft motor and also a new four spring outboard motor bracket from Catalina Direct; Now I need to know the size of SS bolts I will need to mount the brackedt to the stern of my 1980 Catalina 25; I plan on using 1/4 inch ss mounting plate on the inside of the stern.
Thanks
Bud

Bud, you'll need four 3/8"-16 x 3" stainless steel bolts. I just finished mine today and used 1/2" starboard on both side of the transom with a garhauer 4 spring bracket from Catalina Direct. It was pretty easy to do.

Be sure to radius (round) the corners of any backing plates to reduce stress concentration. Bedding them helps too..
