I bought a GPS this weekend, I have been looking at them for some time now, and I finally broke down and bought one locally. I was wondering if anyone has been using this unit at all. It seemed that it was about half the price as the Garmin Color units.
The sales person was very nice, and is crew on a boat at the club, so he wasn't trying to sell me every bell and whistle. He told me to go to the Lowrance site and download the free maps of the local lakes here.
I have used the unit for 4 days now messing around with all of the features it does have, but I am still amazed that NO SOFTWARE comes with these units. Well I guess I know now why they sell them so cheap. I used it on R/C Duty last Sunday, it was blowing 17 to 22 and this weekend was the Center Board Day out on the coarse. I got to see a Thistle flip over, and a 420.
