It dawned on me that I hadn't put anything out on the web lately regarding the national regatta. I've sent a ton of emails to those that are interested but haven't put anything out here for the general population.
Here is what we have going on
5 people have registered and are paid in full another 7 said they'd be sending the registration in shortly - including some that I am expecting this week
There are another 5 or so that are strong maybes.
I received a Cruising Direct 110% jib in the mail this week and have secured a sponsor to cover bow numbers along with a bow advertisement. This sail along with a number of other high end prizes, including a Catalina Direct donation of brand new shrouds and stays, will make the participants chances in the raffle a better than 1 in 7 to win something big.
Gary Swenson at Ullman Sails is sending a storm Jib for the overall winner and Company Casuals has donated some hats for the winners. Online outboards through us a cash donation for award flags to be given to the winners as well. Lastly, Terry Freeman of Freeman Eckley yacht Brokers - the local Catalina Dealer - has purchased keeper plaques for the winners.
Cleveland Race Week has resurrected the JAM overall trophy and along with a fleet winner award for Race Week there is the chance that one of our guys will win an overall for the JAM Fleet.
If anyone is still interested, it isn't too late, please send me an email.
Also - Even if you do not race, a lot of our sponsors have been very generous to us. Please check them out and patronize them if you can.
Duane We have a number of other smaller sponsors as well

Duane: You are really going over the top to make this a fun time. I've been telling everyone that I am going to compete in the Catalina Sailboat National races on Lake Erie out of Cleveland and have a strong feeling I'm going to finish at least third this year in my division I also tell them the first couple of days are realy tough since there is one race each day and free beer to get us ready for the weekend. Great show Duane! Ron
