I've improvised based on what I've found posted here, what I've seen on other boats and what seemed right to me. I added a cheek block to either side of the mast just above the spreaders and a cleat to to either side of the mast.
I will run the cradle lines through the boom vang fitting on the boom, up to micro blocks on the adjustable line running through the cheek blocks on the mast, and back down to a pad-eye further aft on the boom.
Here's my question:
How far aft should I attach the pad-eye to the boom?
If anyone who's done this mod or who has lazy jacks on their boat could offer some guidance, I'd be ever grateful.
I am about to do the dame project with the same general plan, but have not decided on where to run the control line. I have been considering just running aft on the cabin top near the main halyard winch but have not thought of the boom idea. It would seem a good place to put it except when you have to get to it and the boom is out-board.
