I have just purchased a new Catalina 25 which needs much refurbishing.

The scariest part is the nylon/dacron cord used on the keel in place of the SS. I am looking for suggestions to capture the keel until I can get to a trailer. The line has held for 3 years, but ...

Ideas????

How about using a nylon towing strap?

In the short run, if you don't have to raise the keel - don't. Just leave it down. When you do load the boat onto a trailer, the nylon towing strap suggested already is a good idea. You can use your winches to help raise the 1,500 lbs of keel.
