I am splashing in about an hour. I bought this boat on the hard in December and have been working on it since. I don't even know if it floats. As soon as I determine it floats and the motor runs well enough, I am motoring it four hours to its new slip. I'll let you know how it went later tonight. Cheers.

Good luck Dennis, Hang around the splash site long enough to determine that there is not a problem with elementary things like leaks, motor function, sails function, sufficient fuel, VHS working, charts, and notification of your trip plan to a significant person, and check weather forcast to ensure an appropriate window for a four hour trip. That being said there is one further thing to do and that is to repeat after me, " OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN ETC.

If you are still reading the post, Go get some Champaign, or at least a good beer and celebrate your new found love. (don't forget to splash the boat, it's not just to drink)

Good Luck. We hope you get all the satisfaction you're due, after working so long on your boat.

Hi All, I don't have time right now for the full story, but my three hour tour turned into a seventeen hour ordeal and ended up costing me $519.00 in tow fees and the bow rail was ripped off. I am safe and unharmed, sort of, and will explain late. I am now very late for work. Cheers.

Dennis...Sorry to hear of your troubles.

Since you were motoring, I'm guessing either engine problems or shallow water in the upper channels leading into Anchor Bay/Lake St Clair or both???

The upper channels of Lake St. Clair are no joke.........not a place for a sailboat with a weak motor or mechanical problems. The currents can run better than 6 knots at the bottle necks if the wind is just right and the eddies are trecherous for sailboats. Let alone the shipping traffic to stay clear of. Glad to hear you made it out safely or relatively therein.

OK guys, it is half written. This was a big adventure and I don't want to leave anything out. I will finish it tonight. As far as the old job...I still need to get paid......I am missing $519.00. Actually it is not missing, U.S. Boat has it. Cheers.

"North Korea fires multiple nuclear missiles at the United States. How will this affect your workday tomorrow? Watch FOX-4 News at 11:00 after American Idol."

Nothing like a teaser to keep you hungry for details.
