Does anyone here use a Power Tiller, if so how do you like it. You can see it at www.powertiller.net. Thanks.

Wow, that is pretty nice, but looks like it can be a little expensive if your outboard doesn't already have the remote adapter on it like mine! All stainless is nice.

I took a hard look at this, and decided against it, although I am far from certain I'm right. I think it would clutter the tiller up too much for what you do with it most of the time (sail) for what you do less (motor). My tiller will or does have on it a CanSail (tiller tamer type device) to hold the tiller still when I move away, and a tiller extension (vital device ;-). If you add the throttle and gear shift controls, and associated cables, well, it just starts to sound like finding a place for your hand would start to become a problem, and the cables would interfere with the operation of the tiller a bit...

My 1 cents worth.

If you cruise more than day sail, you motor a lot. Where this can come in real handy is in docking. Ever have your boat motor stall at a critical moment when approaching a dock and you have to turn around and reach for the start button? Irritating and unsafe. The really nice thing about the device is that my wife likes it as well. I'm giving it some serious thought.

That is the reason I was looking at it as well I wanted motor control on the tiller when docking or approaching a trailer. I wish I had a way to remove it when I sailed and than install it when needed.

Maybe you can put a threaded knob or a wing nut on the clamp.
