<font size="2"> <font face="Comic Sans MS"> Friends of mine just had that problem. They used a tape measurer. They taped a small messenger line on to it and pulled it through. I wouldn't try pulling the reef line use a messenger line it will go easier. I would think the electricians snake would be a good idea. Also since our booms are only 8 feet or so you might try a long fishing pole. Good luck.
Sean, FWIW, I removed the reefing line from inside the boom on purpose. From a clew block it now runs along the port side of the boom, thru a block attached to the port side of the mast (not that little block it was threaded thru from the factory), then up thru the cringle, back down to deck mounted blocks, and aft to the starboard clutch. Much smoother single line reefing from the cockpit. I'll take some pics if this isn't clear.
I pulled the sail down with the cunningham hook. It came down nice without turning to much up wind. Im thinking of useing a hook on the reef line , and pulling the back down with that. And then a sail tie to hold it close to boom. you realy do sail faster with the reef in on breezey days , I let it out going down wind . First solo sail this season
