I'm a fairly new C250 owner, and am slowly discovering all the things that need a little work. This weekend I tried to use the stove for the first time. Unfortunately I don't have the owners manual for the stove, but do have the manuals for the propane system. My problem is, the electric ignition did not work, nor would the gas remain flowing through the burner unless I held the burner control knob down. As soon as I released the knob the gas flow stopped, so I could not even use a lighter to light the stove. Am I doing something wrong, or is something broken? Thanks!
When you hold the knob down, the gas will flow and the electric lighter will pulsate a spark (if the main cabin panel switch is on). You have to hold the knob down long enough for the flame to preheat the safety device before you let it go or the gas will shut itself off. It's designed so that if the flame goes out for any reason, the safety cools off and the gas is shut off.
Thanks for the info! I had the soleniod control switched on, but I'm not sure I had the main cabin power on. I'll have to try again next time I'm on the boat. Thanks again!
There are 3 auxillary switches at the bottom of the panel. The first one has to be switched on to activate the system in addition to the solenoid switch.
