From an AP update: "A similar incident occurred in February on a ship also operated by Princess. The 2,600-passenger Grand Princess left the Port of Galveston but soon turned around after a passenger suffered a heart attack. The ship tipped sharply on its side, injuring 27 passengers and 10 crew members. The incident was blamed on human error, Benson said."
The Crown Princess rolled 15 degrees and took "30 to 40" seconds to return upright according to passengers.
I wonder if cruise ship captains are ex-sailboat racers.
What kind of boat can't sustain a 15 degree list? This things are really not seaworthy... You can't build something six times as tall as it is deep and expect it to behave properly.

It just happens that everything and everybody fell over (including the water out of the pool).
Makes you wonder how they handle in heavy seas? I would think if they hit really bad weather the might get as much as 15 degrees. You would think that they would have things bolted down a little better.
