The handle slips off of the knotch key occasionally when cranking. Is there any thing that can be done to prevent or lessen this other than just pushing against it?
Thanks,

Mine slips off easily if you don't have it quite on all the way. Sometimes it will feel like it is connected, but it isn't quite all the way on. Once on, mine has a solid grip and you can crank with one hand, not having to push against it. Your socket on the handle is clear inside right?

Yes it is clear maybe I just did not have it seated fully. Both parts appear to be in good shape and not malformed in any way. I'll inspect it more closely next weekend. What is the draft with the swing keel fully down? Is it 5 feet?

Yeah, 5' down and they say 2' 8" up, but with the rudder slightly lower, I'd say closer to 3' up to be safe.

Mine slips a bit too. Cranking up or down is part rotating the handle and part leaning into the winch to keep the handle seated.

I assume you have the slot in the handle aligned with the slot on the turning shaft, right?
