The picture of my boat has been part of my posting signature since becoming a member. Recently it was removed. Why, and how do I replace a signature picture? Thanks.

Have you gone to your photo server to see why your link is now bad? Maybe its time to pay retail, free isn't always good.

The members pictures shown in the forum are not hosted on our site, they get hosted on other sites and we (the members posting) include code in the posts that shows those pics from the remote site.

So if anyone has a picture that dissapears from the forum, it is normally due to one of three reasons...
a) The picture has been removed from view this could be because the 'freebie' site where the pic was located has removed it or made it unavailable.

b) The site where the pic is located is down! (changed it's name, dissappeared of the web etc.)

c) The member edited the code in their post for whatever reason.

For sig pics, a member should review their profile code. Cut and paste the url of the pic directly into the browser address bar. If the pic does not show up then either code is wrong or the pic is gone.

Hope that helps.

Paul,

Where exactly on the profile page does the photo's url need to be to make it into the signature block?

I tried this [img]http://im1.shutterfly.com/etc...[img]

and this [http://im1.shutterfly.com/etc...]

but they both ended up puting a hyperlink in the signature block.
