Having just returned from deployment I was in the market for a trip that went beyond San Diego bay. I also needed to replace the bottom paint in preperation for selling my C-25 "Tribute." So I invited my brother and a friend and we sailed down to Ensenada and Baja Naval boatyard....which incedentily...is the nicest boatyard I've ever been in. We left San Diego at 0100 in the AM and made it down within 16 hours, coming in with the Genoa poled out. The only problem that I ran into was almost lighting the boat on fire with the Alcohol stove...but it just wouldn't feel right if I didn't embarrass myself somehow while sailing. We saw "Tribute" put on the hard on Monday. We were pretty happy about getting to hang out and practice Spanish for a couple of days. Lots of Tacos and too many cervezas to be sure. My wife and I are heading down tomorrow to see her put back in the water and the sail back up. Looking forward to a great time out and probably a lot of motoring. Maybe we'll get lucky with the wind.
The trip hasn't worked out so far as the boat wasn't ready until today (Monday) so I will have to wait until next weekend to go and pick her up for the sail home. I have a couple of pics of her in the yard which I will post as soon as I figure out where my wife has hidden the camera.
