I have some pics and Movies on the links the below link. This was my first trip solo, and my first time to use the tiller tamer. The tiller tamer is a must, can't believe I eve sailed without it. Dollar for dollar it is the best upgrade for the catalina 25
I wish the videos had sound the wind noise would make it look even faster.
Right Click and do A save as. The vidoes take a long time to download beacause I only have 128k out on my cable modem. I'll try to upload some to a faster webserve tomorow. Video 9 and 12 are the best.
I always pull that behind me when I got out solo just incase I fall off while messing with the jib upfront. Its unlikely I would be able to get to it in time, or be able to pull myself back in, but mainly it looks cool !
Both movies and pics are great. We have had a pretty dry and still spell here in Oklahoma. (Where the wind comes sweeping down the plain.) Accept when you are in August and it is over 100 most every day. Can't wait till we get back to cooler/windier weather.
Nice photos...but what's the story with the dangling fenders ?
I just recently attached the fenders to my finger slip because of comments regarding style points but even with fenders on the boat, maybe consdier wedging them between the stays and the cabin or rcmd get a small hammock stly netting to lay on your mid-deck and tuck the fenders in that.
I have to try videos but my digital camera is too old and believe the clarity of the video would not be as good as yours. Another reason for me to buy a new digital camera !
Nice videos Garnett! Someday I'm gonna figure out how to do that so I can downlowd them here. To go back and watch a great day of sailing like that is priceless. Ok now as far as the fenders go... pull 'em in. The couple times I went out with the PO of PanaceaII, he would always toss the fenders in the quarterberth, which was a pain to me to get out in a hurry, plus if they were wet they'd get the cushion wet. So I started wedging them between the shrouds and the side of the cabin, as Larry mentioned, and as is shown.
They are easy to get to when coming into the cove and if they are wet and dirty it stays on the outside of the cabin and not the inside.

Brian, Congratulations on your solo....what a great feeling. Soon you'll be posting msgs from Veracruz.
Also just wanted say "howdy". In my earlier (pre-sailing) life (late 70's) I lived in Galveston for 11 years but after a couple more diversions am now back to my yankee roots. In fact, my daughter is a BOI. The island has changed a lot since those days I'm sure but I still have friends and lots of good memories from there and I sure miss the Gulf coast food. Best to you.
Nice videos! I love watching sailing videos during the week since I can't get any sailing in until the weekends. I try to take a video or two each time I sail and add it to my collection.
In one of the vids it shows the American flag on the starboard side. I thought the flag from your country of origan flys on the port or fantail and the country you are visiting flys on starboard. Cheers.

Where did you buy this tiller tamer at? <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">
I watched the videos. how long did she stay on course with the tiller tammer?
Good stuff,
Over twenty minutes the boat would go windward fall off some gain speed and back upwind again in little cycles. I could ahve held the same course indefinately.

That's probably good information in the event he gets intercepted by a Cuban gunboat!
