I need to buy a butane cartridge for my 2006 C250. WM carries Kenyon stoves and cartridges, which (of course) are labeled "For use ONLY with Kenyon stoves."

I don't remember what make the C250 stove is, but I don't believe it's a Kenyon. So here's my question. Is that just marketing, or are they really unique? Are these cartridges interchangable in size, pressure, mounting flanges, etc.?

Thanks!

Bill,
Speaking solely from my own experience, they are all the same. I believe the labels are to limit their culpability if someone burns up their boat while using their canister in a competitors stove. I buy whatever brand they have at Sports Authority. About $3 a piece. They all seem to leak if they are not lined up exactly perpendicular to the valve when you connect them. I don't know why they don't come up with a threaded valve like the propane stoves.

The Kenyon cartidges worked fine with the stove in our '97. I'm sure they're all the same. Buy a couple cans. The cans get cold & don't flow as well if you have the burner on a long time. If you have 2 cans you can switch them out & keep on cooking. Plus you'll have a spare. Also, they do leak a bit if you don't line them up just right & you'll want to disconnect them when you're done cooking (not really for safety, but so any tiny leak doesn't empty your can).

Congrats on your '06 WK. We sailed our '97 WK for 6 years & loved it. It's a wonderful boat.

Thanks, folks. I figured as much, but just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the advice on disconnecting the cartridge, too.
