I know this question has been asked before, but the answer is not in the tech tips: how long should the halyards and sheets be for a symetrical spinnaker? I have a standard rig.
I tried doing a search of old posts, but as has always been the case in my previous attempts at long searches, the search timed out and crashed without providing any hits.

I fly a symmetrical. Sheets should be 50 feet long each. You can get by with 40. I have two types. A 3/16 sheet for light air and a 3/8 for heavy. Basic rule for sheets is 2x boat length. My 40 foot sheets work fine. You need gloves with the 3/16 sheets.
My halyard is run to the cockpit. Racing, you need enough slack to take it around outside the hoisted genny. Non racing you do not. I would say halyard should be 75 feet.
5/16 - enough to go from the cabin top edge, back to the transom and around the forestay back to the cabintop edge..... or 2x the boat length plus a few.... I occasionally launch out of the cabin like the J22's....
