Well it looks like we have a change of plans. Rather than use up 6 days of vacation just to reach the San Juan's we are going to sail the south sound. Ill miss Stuart Island this year but I wont miss the time it takes to motor/sail to get there. My wife and I have decided to head south to some of the areas we first visited 8 years ago. Perhaps we will add a few new ones. As of now it looks like Gig Harbor, Penrose Point, The Landing in Olympia, Jarrel cove, McMiken Island and all points south<img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b2d823b3127cce9e4e9977d8770000001410" border=0>If anyone would like to buddy boat let us know. If your going to be in the area lets get together and have some fun. Last week of July. Will be heading to Seattle 1st week of August for the Tall ships.
I think we may be cruising around South Sound about then. As our plans firm up we'll see if we can get together a night or two. Where kcan I find out more about the tall ships in Seattle?
Hi Doug: We are planning for the last week of July and first week of August but still flexable. Might go as far as first two weeks of August. Ill be doing Seattle Tall Ships by car mostly. If Im realy lucky Ill be crewing on a Coaster II schooner with my son. They will be joining the tall ship race. Try this site but be advised since 9/11 not as many boats will be comming. www.tallshipsseattle.org/index.html
Sounds like fun! Let us know as the dates firm up. Would like to get together at one of those destinations mentioned. We seem to be stuck on McMicken Island every trip out. It has a nice little cove and the crabbing (red rock) is pretty good. The oysters are a bit big (we saw one as big as a shoe, size 7, and gave up) and the clams take a little work to find. It would be nice to venture to a few other places and open up our horizons. Keep us posted.
