First, Thank You Dave Bristle for being the election commissioner this year. In a sort of mixed blessing, every year we seem to have someone who becomes an associate member by moving on to another boat; this is the pool we use for official ballot counters.
Commodore:
Frank Hopper winner - Jim Baumgart second on write in votes
Vice Commodore:
Duane Wolff winner - Al Eckart second
Secretary:
Kevin Mackenzie
Treasurer:
Ben Raye winner
Chief Measurer:
Bill Meinert winner
Capri 25 Measurer:
Rick Barry winner on write in votes - Chris McKillip second on write in votes
There were 76 ballots cast which is 10 percent of our membership, This is very similar to last year, I do not know historical data earlier than that. Thank you to all who participated and especially to those who agreed to run for office.
Thank you Frank and other officers. I am happy to step down and take a break. Perhaps I'll volunteer for something in coming years. Do let me know if you need anything, the Association means a lot to me.
Got the day off. Going to scrub the boat, tune the rigging, and go sailing in our strong fall winds, and take the wife on a date (to a movie).
Perhaps you could talk to a few politicians, explain how pleasant it is to have an election without any negative advertising, no campgaign contributions, and the outcome is that we get a leadership team that actually get the job done.

Rick, Its my understanding that if you went to Nationals or any other sanctioned event that the Catalina Association was sponsoring that you would be in charge of Checking the weights of the hulls, Checking the measurements of the keel and rudder, and measuring the sails in as class legal. There are probably some other small areas to look at like the rigging and making sure that everyone was racing One Design.
I would love to be able to take our boat to a nationals event in the future, but I don't see it coming very soon, our son is 3 and there are allot of more important things to take care of right now in our lives. But who knows? If we get the Nationals a little closer I will want to be there, Even if I am crew.
I wasn't even aware that you or I got nominated? I would have voted for you anyway
Chris/Rick, The nationals? Cleveland? To Crew? Let me know, I might be interested in entering Saribella, but only if I can have the chief measurer and the runner up on board.

(Will that be enough?)
Historically the Chief measurer is the keeper of the class rules. The make sure any ambiguities are cleared up and work with the membership to make any changes that should be made. The 25 measurer worked through the problem of our rudders getting old and the solution of accepting a 3rd party rudder. So if you want any changes made to the Capri one design rules then this is who you talk to.
Congrats to all the winners and a REALLY BIG THANK YOU for your time and energy in making this THE best association in the country.
A big thanks to Jim Baumgart (the boat next door) and all the rest of the past officers who have given so much time and sometimes grief in keeping this association going over the years.
Now, what was it the Capri guys are saying? "Fear"? If I cannot bring my boat this year maybe I might crew for a Capri owner.....(thinking about this )
