Well...my season really does not end. Being in Virginia, I can squeak by with sailing thru the winter. I put the boat cover on last year when bad weather/snow was predicted but then took it off after the period past and then continued sailing. My marina has flow movers and I keep the boat in the water all year.

This is end of first season I have owned the boat. Came thru a number of projects last year and tweaking some of them right now. Last february or so, I treated all the outside wood to several coats of Cetol. A couple of weeks ago, I wiped it down and put on 2 coats. First major thing this semi-off period for me was attending to the bottom. I am coming thru that right now. My boat is just now completing it's first period out of the water. It was lifted out last Thursday and will probably go back in this Thursday. Bottom assessment is that the blisters discovered during pressure washing last year are mostly paint blisters. There are 2 or 3 that are just slightly raised but the assessment is to leave them alone. Brush painting of the first 5" or so below the stripe is complete and it's smooth with no raised areas. I am having the yard paint the bottom and while they are doing that I put on 3 coats of PolyGlow since last doing that back last March or so. I only had to do a good scrubbing and attend to some smudges and stained areas but did not have to do a full prep job this time around. Thgis was also a lot easier with boat out of the water.

The solar panel/controller I hooked up last year was hooked into the electrics the easiest way...thru the 12 volt adapter plug. Today, I complete the hard wiring of it freeing up the 12 volt adapter.

I have a few misc things to do and then I am probably going to get prepareed to tackle installing a new electrical panel. Appreciate the forum and all the helpful hints regarding the optional ways of doing this. I pretty much no what I am going to do but will report out when those plans are finalized/completed.

Anyway....on an optimistic note as many are preparing to button up ther boats for the season.......the Spring is just around the corner.....and I am ready now !

So...get cracking...make it a short, productive off-season !

Our off season was July and August where temps hovered around and above 100 degrees with no wind. We did get a lot done and all of the projects for this year are completed. Now on to the list I always seem to have waiting. Also looking at a new electrical panel. I will probably just replace the old one with a new Catalina replacement. The only problem with the original one is that the system light does not work so you can leave it on if you're not careful.
Other projects include; queen size aerobed set up in the cabin, two burner stove from REI. Will install it below the cutting board top to keep it out of the way, then remove the board for cooking. Install 3 12v fans for the cabin quarter berth, and v berth. I already have the fans, just haven't gotten around to hooking them up.

And lastly, as late as possible next year, we will be taking her out of the water to do a new bottom job over the winter. We have a place on the lake that does an exceptional job, but the only requirement is that you are asked to be patient. They have the boat sit for a couple of months to make absolutely sure that the glass is completely dry before doing the work.

So until it gets too cold to enjoy sailing, we will keep going. In fact, Sunday is supposed to be 68 with 11 kt wind. Yeehah...

Fans - I also have my eye on adding fans. I am looking over the Caframo Sirroco fans which have very low amps and multi-speed and multi-directinal configuration. Also they fold up a bit to minimize space taken when not in use.
