My vent fan stopped working. Do these solar fans have batteries that need replacing ?

I think a couple of models might have a backup battery for those strings of gloomy days most however are solar powered.

Mine has a battary that runs the fan at night. I don't know how long it last without sun shine though. Cheers.

I have a Nicro Solar Vent that I bought last year. It has a Nicad Cell in it. Once winter hit and I was using the tarp for some of the winter weeks, I removed the cell. Once the tarp days were over, I reinstalled the cell and it has been working the vent during nights and overcast days. Not sure how long it will last but so far, so good.

In the wintertime when my unit is shaded more and there is less daylight mine will run out of juice until the next day. I have had mine for three years and it still is working.

some have batteries, some don't.
If yours has a battery, put it in a battery tester and check it out. Also check your contacts to make sure there is no corrosion.
You can also get replacementbatteries at radio shack.
Sometimes the motor shaft itself gets dirt in it and then it has to overcome it's resistance. On my older boat I put a little drop of oil containing teflon on the shaft so that it would dribble down into it and it helped out.
Let us know what you figure out
