I have invested a little time this holiday learning to use SeaClear and have a question regarding its communication with a GPS unit. I'm using a Garmin GPSmap76 (software version 3.5) and SeaClear II (file version 1.0.0.171).
Q1: I can read waypoints stored in the GPS using the utility g7towin AND I can send waypoint positions to the GPS from SeaClear readily with the GPS serial format set to GARMIN. I cannot, however, either (1) read waypoint positions from the GPS using SeaClear or (2)import positions into SeaClear from a *.g7t file. I'm stumped. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Gerry, not sure if this will help as I use OziExplorer but it works similar to SeaClear when uploading/downloading in that the gps is set to garmin protocol.
However, when using moving map (receiving position data) the gps must be set to NMEA.
Not sure if the same is true for SeaClear, but its worth a try.
Thanks Arlyn. I suspect you are correct but have not had a chance to try yet (got knocked down this week hard by a flu bug). My problem of uploading/downloading waypoint data between the GPS and SeaClear was solved by re-downloading and re-installing SeaClear.... --
