Hi All, I really like my 1977 swing keel but am very tired of bending over when ever I am in the cabin. I am 5' 10" with a bad back. The cabin is just an inch or two too low. Sooo I am thinking of selling La Tina Caliente and buying a newer version of the C25....if I can get more headroom. I don't want to go into the C250 mainly because I can't afford it. Cheers.

Dennis,

Yes, my 88 allows my 6' frame to stand up under the the pop top. Other than that I have to slouch a little when standing. This design difference occurred when they eliminated the swing keel, which allowed the floor pan to be lowered. If I'm not mistaking they started with the 85 or 86 models.

The 88 model lowered the floor and got rid of the hump on the floor. 1989 improved on that by adding a new deck with a slighty higher cabin. 1989-90 would be the best bet or an early wing 250.

Tom.

The 89 25 has much more head room than the 250 wing. There are numbers in a recent 250 thread.

Hello Dennis, I have a '91 TR FK and I have to be in stocking feet to stand without slumping under the "center" of the cabin. I am 5'7" bare foot......no exaggeration either way on my height. You are welcome to come by and check out the height. I am at Miller Marina between 9 and 10 mile on Jefferson.

by the way.....Happy New Year! Julie and I will be at the Chicago show also. Maybe we'll see you there.

Am I mistaken or is the headroom thing a Swing vs Fin issue. I thought I understood from other threads that the fin provides more headroom? Neither is an issue for my 5'4" self, however. One of the VERY FEW positives of being vertically challenged.

The headroom is tied to boats built after a certain # .
My boat(5775) has the lower floor without hump and during the 89 model year the new deck was introduced which improved everything.

The earlier boatd had the hump in the cabin floor for the swing even if the boat was a fin.

Hope this explains it a little better.
