I am installing curtain rail tracks as my 85 does not currently have any and the admiral would like a privacy option. I am considering using #6 1/2" screws and attaching the tracks directly to the fiberglass above and below the cabin windows. I know the cockpit bulkhead is 1" thick and am assuming the cabin wall thickness around the windows are at least 3/4" thick. Does anyone know if this is a good assumption (don't want screw holes to go all the way through the cabin walls). Has anyone installed curtains recently that can share their experience?
If you buy the clips from cd, you can mount them with pretty short screws. I used 1/2 inch. You only have to get into the fiberglass, and a little of the wood. The wood itself is a little more than 1/2 inch.
