I think you made the right choice. I lovd my Yamaha until this year. I have the extended YES service agreement on mine which is nice but my power tilt went on the blink this weekend and I'm pretty mad considering it's only a 4 year old engine. Something is loose or rusty in the tilt motor. It only works if you tap it. I am hoping I can get a dealer to come to the boat so I don't have to take the engine off. I have thew 8hp with power tilt and electric start. It's 112 pounds dry and not going to be fun to pull off on my floating dock!

I hear nothing but good with the Honda's. Between my Yamaha on my whaler and now this one acting up My next one will be a Honda!

Brooke... I'm glad you're back on your way. FYI, because of the ethanol problems all over the country, the Honda mechanics around here strongly recommend:

1. Install a Racor filter/separator.

2. Add Startron AND a stabilizer like EZ-Store to each tank of fuel, even if just half the amount of stabilizer you'd use over the winter. Today's fuels lose a major percentage of their octane every week they're in the tank.

You'll love that engine!
