My trailer is shown in a post in the archives. If you search for a post entitled "Which trailer/which keel should I go for?" that was posted by GrahamK dated 3/25/2006 you can see my wing trailer keel guide. I think a similar design would help with a swing??
Measurements would be possible but mounting to your trailer would have to be specific to your trailer. I would make them adjustable if possible whatever you do. Mine are mounted with U-bolts and I can adjust them where I want.
I also remove the 90 degree "arms" (keel guides) and install straight arms and use them to lift the boat off the trailer so I can paint under the keel while on the trailer. What I end up with is 2 long boards along both sides of the keel. I use 2 or more floor jacks to "inch" the boat high enough to get under the keel.
My swing keel trailer (rollers) doesn't have any guides... just a plank where the keel rests. Most of the time the boat goes on pretty centered.. however I did end up with it listing a bit one time so I can see the value of some sort of guide. (The ramp wasn't level side to side).
Monty, West Marine catalog has several guides shown ,page 773 in the 05 book. Don't look much like what's used up here but you'll get the idea. Great Northern Catalog shows some as well.
