Catalina Direct offers a product they call a "Cabin Cover" for $599.

I think that this is a canvas cover that covers all the parts of the cabin that stick up above the deck. So it would start a little forward of the forward hatch, then come aft, covering the pop-top and all the teak and the windows, and then cover the bulkheads where most of us have our compass & instruments mounted and finally cover the companionway teak trim and hatchboards.

At least I think that's what it is. They don't have any pictures or drawings available.

Has anybody bought one of these already? How's it working out for you?

Thanks,

That description is correct. Whisper came with one from the PO. It's a litle old and the snaps are a bit corroded. Installing new ones is on the list for this off season. I fully expect using the cover will really help w/ leaks from where the weather board meets the hatch boards.

Jerry, if you are getting a replacement you need to tell them to make it without the snaps installed, they need to include them but not install them. You need to install them to match your snaps, Vice-Grip makes a wonderful tool that makes this super easy to do on the boat.

I made a small cover to cover the hatchboards and the a small portion of the cockpit. It keeps all the rain out of the cabin and allows you to keep the hatchboards open if it is raining. It only used a couple of yards of sunbrella and was pretty easy to make. Depends what you are looking for and how much you want t spend.

Tom.
