I have a 9.9 Evinrude Sailmaster on my 84 C-25. When starting on both fully charged batteries it cranks slow for a couple of seconds before starting. The engine runs fine when in use. Also can not get it to lock down in reverse and comes out of the water if powered up. Any assistance would be appreciated.
I have an Evinrude Sailmaster as well. Starts like a charm unless the battery is a little down. If it doesn't crank fast I put both batteries on and it starts like a charm. When the isolated starting battery is well charged, there is no problem.
On another problem, and I haven't had this problem yet, but I am certain tht I have a seal that is going. I can tell by the oil on the shaft flange. I am refilling lower shaft with new gear oil, but I know that I will finally have some trouble, even though I am not now.
