Is there anyone out there in Catalina 25 land that has experienced rusted Catalina 25 fixed keel bolts?
If I decide to make an attempt to drill and tap next to the existing bolts how far do you have to drill through the hull before you hit the steel?

Hi Ben... Use the Search function, type "keel bolts" and select "C-25 Forum" and go through some of the threads. You don't specify your vintage, but it must be before about 1983 when they switched to a lead keel with stainless bolts. In earlier years, they used mild steel bolts going into a cast iron keel. The drilling process for sistering some new bolts is rather involved, but Catalina Direct sells a kit for that purpose. At least one person in the association (I think Jim Baumgart) has had the job done professionally--it involved some fairly substantial equipment to drill and tap the cast iron. I can't answer your question except to speculate that the keel stub is in the 5/8 - 3/4" range. But I never actually said that!
