Did I read that someone put something across the settees in the main cabin, traditional layout, and put an air mattress over it? How is that working out?
Haley, I am one that is going to put an aerobed across the settees in the cabin. I would like to say that it works great. However, we have only been up to the boat to sail only once this year for 3 hours. Normally, I would have had this project done a long time ago. The hold up is that we have sold our current home and are building a new one. Both should complete in mid-July so we can get back to spending the weekend on the boat. Of course it will be 105 degrees by then.
I plan to use hardwood 1"X4" or 6" set on top of the cushions running parallel to one another. I figure about 7 or 8 with space between. To keep from wearing out the cushion material, I will add some cushioning to the slats on each end. Then drill a hole big enough on each end to allow a bungee through so I can tie them together when not in use. The plan is to store them in the quarter berth went the bed is not in place.
Not sure if this was what you wanted, but thought I would provide some input to your question.
