Does anyone know what this is? I notice the new ones offered by Catalina Direct are up to 95 lbs but I dont know if my origional one will handle that weight.

Charlie, Catalina used different mounts over the years so you need to supply a picture or manufacturer name to really answer that question. My 78 had a Fulton which was already old when I purchased my boat and had a lot of lateral movement. I replaced it with a Catalina Direct model and the difference is significant. The Fulton mount holes did not line up with the CD mount but I believe does line up with the mount used on later models, such as yours. By the way, CD makes a two, three and four spring model to handle different weights. I believe the three spring model handles up to 95. The four spring model handles more. You need to match the model to your engine weight.
If you have the original engine mount (it looks like the one pictured above), beware. I took mine into the shop and started taking it apart to salvage the aluminum bars for use in 'boat projects'. Some of the pieces (the pivot pins as I recall) literally disintegrated into powder as I removed them. They looked pretty good from the outside, but the interior had turned to aluminum chloride. If I'd hung an engine on that mount, it would have been in the drink for sure.
If you check all the pieces on your mount and are confident they aren't corroded or otherwise weakened, I still wouldn't trust that style with more than a 6 or 8 hp two-stroke. I purchased a new stainless Garhauer mount (Catalina Direct sells them) and never looked back.

Bruce,
Are you sure that mount pictured above is the original issue motor mount. My 1980 has the tubular Garhauer mount and it looks like an original installation.
I had the tubular Garhauer on my 1980 as well, I did take it apart and save the angle mounting pieces to use on the inside on the locker as backing plates. Although the new mount's brackets were further apart, the hole spacing was the same! It saved me about $55 from CD as they offer the angles separately as "transom backing rails". (The backing plates are important to spread the load of the heavier motor and mount)
