I have a 25 catalina with a swing keel. My problem is this. Last week when I tried to crank the keel up all I got was cable. I am aware that I will have to haul her out but can anyone tell be where I can get a new cable and possibly new crank as well.

Your best bet is to go online to Catalina Direct. They have enough parts to build a Catalina from scratch!

If you are lucky and can fasten small items under water and depending on the damage, you might be able to reconnect the cable to the keel going under with mask ans snorkle, but a scuba tank would be better.

I purchased mine from the Catalina Factory. They had, by far, the best price including shipping from California.

Just a suggestion - While replacing the cable, it makes good sense to check the turning ball and pin and replace everything at once. FYI, it's advised to replace the lift cable every two years, especially in salt water.

Yes, good schedule. The Forum has stories to share about the boats that broke their cables and broke the hull.

If by 'crank' you mean the winch. Catalina replacement winches are inexepensive and a fairly easy item to replace. Stick with Catalina sanctioned parts.
