I have a 1989 Tall Rig. The chain plates for the upper shrouds have two holes in each. One hole is inboard and the other is outboard. When rigging the upper shroud does it make a difference which hole is used?

For the tall rig you are suppose to use the outer hole. I can't imagine that it makes much of a difference but that's why Catalina put it there.

Odd, my boat came from the dealer with them rigged in the inner hole. i still rig them that way after 18 years and have not experienced any problems.

Well at this point the vote is 50/50. Would anyone else like to weigh in regarding the "hole in the chainplate" puzzle?
