Seems everything I've read on this forum about the CDI roller furling has been good. However, any input regarding how it holds up in a salt water enviorment? John on Ms Achsa FK/SR
I've seen many of them around here and never heard of problems... I'd say all of the furlers are built to take unlimited salt water abuse--stainless and plastic (torlon, etc.) since they live in constant spray. A blast with a hose now and then is all they want, mostly just to keep the bearings clean. (No doubt you've seen the recommendations for the ball-bearing option on the CDI.)
John, I have only had mine two years but it is in a slip on the Pacific 24/7/365. No hint of corrosion. All parts are either a rubber, plastic or S/S. I have the FF4 ball bearing model and have not had a problem with it since I installed it. 20 seconds to unwind, 30 seconds to retrieve. As stress free as it gets!
